Mobile Glamping Tent Rental FAQs
About Mobile Glamping
What is mobile glamping?
Happy Yarvi is not a permanent glamping resort. Instead, we set up furnished and styled large canvas bell tents at a location of your choice, whether it’s your backyard, a reserved campsite or a public or private venue.
How does a Happy Yarvi glamping rental work?
You choose the occasion and location and reserve your experience. After signing the booking agreement and paying the deposit, your reservation is confirmed. Happy Yarvi handles the delivery, installation, furnishing, styling and removal of the whole setup.
Do you provide the location, or do I need to find one?
We don’t operate our own glamping locations, we bring glamping to you! You can use your own backyard, another private property or a public or private venue that you have permission to use. We can also recommend venues based on our experience, previous installations and professional connections.
What occasions can Happy Yarvi accommodate?
If you can dream it, we can almost certainly make it happen. From sleepovers, birthdays, and staycations to weddings, reunions, retreats, festivals, fundraisers, and corporate events, we can create a glamping experience for nearly any occasion. We also design fully customized installations.
What is included with a Happy Yarvi glamping tent rental?
What’s included varies by experience. Please see our signature experiences for details. We are also happy to create a custom experience for your specific occasion.
How many people can a Happy Yarvi tent accommodate?
Our 16-foot bell tents can sleep up to six children on twin beds, up to four adults on two queen beds, or a combination of bed sizes. For maximum comfort, we recommend four to five twin beds or one queen bed per tent. Our day-use tents can comfortably accommodate six to eight guests at a time.
Can I rent more than one tent?
Yes! We can provide anywhere from one tent to our full available inventory. We currently accommodate installations of up to 10 tents, depending on furnishing availability. We specialize in glamping villages, multi-tent bookings, and larger event installations.
Can you customize the furnishings and decor?
Yes! Our standard pricing includes furnishings and decor shown with each signature experience. We can also create custom themes and styling for an additional fee. Because we carefully source and coordinate all furnishings and décor, customers generally may not add their own items.
What should guests bring?
Our sleepover experiences include mattresses, pillows, bedding, comforters, and blankets. Guests should bring weather-appropriate clothing, extra layers, personal toiletries, and anything specifically required by the venue.
Site Requirements

How much space is required for each tent?
Each 16-foot bell tent is secured with guy lines that extend 3 feet beyond the tent to stakes placed around its perimeter. We therefore require a clear, level, circular area at least 25 feet in diameter for each tent. As an elementary math refresher to myself: “a diameter is a straight line that goes from one side of a circle, through its center, to the other side”.
Do tents have to be set up on grass or soil?
Grass is preferred, as the tents are designed to be set up with stakes in the ground. We can also set up our tents on pavement, concrete or artificial turf without stakes. Hard-surface installations require additional equipment and labor and wear out faster, and thus incur an additional charge.
Can you set up the tents without stakes?
Our glamping bell tents are designed to be set up with stakes in the ground. We can also set up our tents without stakes, using a custom solution of weights and additional hardware. Installations without stakes require additional equipment and labor and the tents wear out faster, and thus incur an additional charge.
Can tents be installed indoors?
Yes, we can set up our 16-foot tents indoors, provided the space offers a clear floor area at least 25 feet in diameter and 15 feet of vertical clearance. Because indoor installations cannot be staked, they require weights and additional labor, which incur an additional charge.
What site access is required for delivery and setup?
We need convenient access from our delivery vehicle to the setup area. Please tell us in advance about narrow gates, stairs, steep slopes, soft or uneven ground, limited parking or a significant distance between parking and the site. Because our tents, furnishings and equipment are large and heavy, difficult access may require additional crew members or specialized equipment. Please confirm the site’s suitability and any access requirements before finalizing your booking.
Before we arrive, please clear the nearest parking area, such as the driveway, and leave ample room around our delivery vehicle for unloading and staging. We use carts to move our equipment to the setup area, so the pathway must be reasonably level and free of hoses and other obstacles.
What do I need to know about underground utilities and irrigation?
Our tents are normally secured with stakes. Before setup, the customer is responsible for informing us about underground electrical lines, gas lines, water pipes, septic systems, drainage, irrigation and invisible pet fences at the setup area. Public utility marking does not necessarily identify privately installed lines or sprinkler systems, so the property owner must disclose those separately. If necessary, an official utility locate must be completed before installation.
Do tents require electricity or water?
The tents themselves do not require water or a household electrical connection. We include a portable power bank to power string lights and small fans, and to charge phones. Our power banks cannot run heaters, portable air conditioners or appliances. Those need to be plugged into an outlet. Bathrooms, showers and running water are separate venue considerations.
What time do you set up and remove the tent?
For a typical overnight rental, we complete the setup of a single tent by 3 pm and return at 11 am on the scheduled teardown date. A single, fully furnished tent generally takes about three hours to install and style, although difficult access, weather, or custom décor may extend that time. Teardown of a single tent takes about two hours. Multiple tents require more time depending on the number of tents and the location. We will confirm delivery and removal times during the booking process. The setup area must be completely clear and accessible when our crew arrives.
Does the setup area need to be free of pet waste?
Yes. The setup area and the entire pathway leading to it must be completely free of dog poop and other animal waste before we arrive. We cannot begin setup until all waste has been removed. If animal waste comes into contact with our tents, furnishings, or equipment, a $150 cleaning fee will apply.
Do sprinklers need to be turned off?
Yes. All sprinklers must be turned the night before our scheduled arrival to keep the ground dry, and remain off for the entire rental period. Sprinkler water can enter through the tent’s windows or doorway and damage the tent, furnishings, and décor. The customer is responsible for any cleaning, repair, or replacement costs resulting from sprinkler exposure.
Weather, Comfort & Tent Policies
What happens if rain or severe weather is forecast?
Ordinary Pacific Northwest rain or wind does not automatically prevent setup. Our tents are designed for outdoor use and can handle moderate rain and wind when properly installed. However, high winds, lightning, flooding, snow, falling branches, wildfire conditions or unsafe road and site access may make installation or continued use unsafe. Happy Yarvi reserves the right to postpone, modify or remove a setup when conditions present a safety risk. Any rescheduling or cancellation options will follow the terms of your booking agreement.
Are your tents waterproof?
Our canvas bell tents are designed for outdoor use and provide reliable protection in normal rainy conditions when properly installed. Rain flies may also be used when appropriate. Like any canvas structure, however, a glamping tent is not a permanent building, and no outdoor tent can be guaranteed against every storm, flood or wind-driven weather condition.
What beds do you provide?
All of our beds feature comfortable, high-quality memory-foam mattresses – we never use inflatable air mattresses. Twin mattresses are placed on a protective floor mat and made up with bedding. Queen mattresses are placed on raised bed frames and made up with bedding.
Can tents be heated or cooled?
Fans and heaters are available upon request for suitable setups. Our heaters cannot be plugged into a portable power bank. They require a suitable electrical outlet within reach of the tent. We can provide extension cords up to 100 ft long designed to power our heaters. For safety, customers may not bring or use their own fans, heaters, air conditioners, or other heating or cooling equipment inside our tents.
The tent’s windows and doors can also be opened for ventilation during warm weather. Canvas tents are not insulated, so indoor temperatures will still be largely affected by outside conditions. We will confirm power access and whether heating or cooling is appropriate for your location and season.
Are bathrooms and showers included?
Bathrooms and showers are not built into our tents and are not included with a standard rental. For backyard setups, guests normally use the residence’s facilities. Campgrounds and venues may provide shared facilities, and we can suggest portable restroom or shower providers for remote or off-grid events.
Are cooking, candles, fires or smoking permitted inside the tents?
No. Smoking, vaping, candles, cooking appliances and open flames are prohibited inside or near the tents. Grills, fire pits, and other sources of flame or smoke must be positioned far enough away that smoke, heat, ash, and sparks cannot reach the tents. Only heating or cooling equipment supplied by Happy Yarvi may be used inside our tents.
These restrictions protect our guests and our tents, bedding, furnishings and décor from fire, smoke and permanent damage. The customer is responsible for any fire- or smoke-related damage and all resulting cleaning, repair, or replacement costs.
Are pets allowed inside the tents?
Pets are not permitted inside or immediately around our tents. Please keep animals away from the tent, guy lines, furnishings, and exterior of each tent. Please be especially careful that an unsupervised dog does not urinate on the outside of our tent or an outside cat doesn’t use our tent as a scratching pad. Pet-related cleaning or damage will result in a fee of $250 to $500.
Pricing & Reservations
How much does a Happy Yarvi experience cost?
Pricing depends on the selected experience, number of tents, number of nights, location and sleeping configuration. Custom styling, additional beds, difficult access, hard-surface anchoring and specialty equipment can also affect the total. Current starting prices are shown on our experience pages, and larger or customized installations are quoted individually.
What areas do you serve?
Happy Yarvi is based in Tacoma, Washington and provides mobile glamping experiences throughout Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. Our core service area includes Tacoma, Olympia, much of the greater Seattle and the Kitsap Peninsula areas. We are happy to travel farther for events, retreats, and multi-tent installations.
Are delivery, setup and removal included?
White-glove delivery, installation and removal are included in our pricing. Locations farther away or bookings involving ferry travel, overnight travel, difficult access, hard-surface anchoring, or other complex logistics may require an additional fee. Any applicable delivery or logistics charges will be included in your quote before you book.
How far in advance should I reserve?
Please reserve at least three weeks in advance. We recommend booking much earlier for summer weekends, holidays, weddings, custom designs and multi-tent events because availability can be limited. Depending on inventory and crew availability, we may also be able to accommodate a last-minute booking. Your date is not confirmed until the booking agreement is signed and the deposit is paid.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes. A nonrefundable 35% booking deposit is required to reserve your date. Your reservation is confirmed once we have received the signed booking agreement and required deposit. The remaining balance and payment deadline will be stated in your quote and booking agreement.
What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?
Cancellation and rescheduling terms are included in the booking agreement provided before payment. The terms may differ for signature experiences, custom orders and large installations because Happy Yarvi begins reserving inventory, scheduling staff and purchasing materials in advance. Weather-related concerns do not automatically qualify for cancellation unless conditions make setup unsafe.
Do you offer multi-night rentals?
Yes. Our overnight experiences can be reserved for multiple nights, and longer rentals may receive custom pricing. From October 15 through March 15, overnight rentals require a minimum two-night stay. Extended and seasonal installations are also available by custom quote.
Is a damage or security deposit required?
A refundable security deposit may be required depending on the size, location and nature of the booking. Any required amount will be clearly stated before you reserve. The renter remains responsible for loss, excessive cleaning and damage to the tents, furnishings or equipment beyond ordinary wear.
Is event insurance required?
Event insurance is strongly recommended and may be required for weddings, public events, commercial installations, multi-tent bookings or setups at certain venues. Many venues require their own proof of liability insurance. We will tell you before booking if Happy Yarvi requires coverage for your installation, but you should also confirm the venue’s requirements directly.
